There Are Acne Treatments Causing Depression

By Jean Helmet

What is acne? Ask any teen or young adult with it and they may say the bane of their existence. This is especially true when it erupts just before a big date or the prom. Acne is in reality a chronic inflammatory skin disease.

Acne is either caused or influenced by the following: excess production of sebum and keratin, a build up of bacteria on the skin, a response to inflammation, and the male hormone called Androgen effects the production of sebum.

There are really good treatments available both to treat an outbreak and as a possible preventative for future outbreaks. Treatments are typically focused on the reduction of sebum, build up of dead skin cells and inflammation. It is advisable to consult with your doctor or a specialist - a Dermatologist to determine the best treatment protocol for you.

As with many medications there are side effects. Using some treatments while pregnant or trying to get pregnant can put the infant at risk for birth defects. Some treatments can actually lead to depression, psychosis, and suicide (thoughts and attempts). These side effects can obviously be very serious which is another reason to speak with your doctor.

There are those who should avoid acne treatments unless directed by a physician. If you already suffer with depression, acne treatments can make it worse. If you happen to be going through tough times such as death of a loved one, marriage, having a baby, divorce or even leaving home for the first time, there will be some depression. At this point it is best to use only topical treatments and then still consult a professional.

Both acne and depression are very difficult at times to deal with. There are treatments readily available for both that are both prescriptive and natural in the form of nutritional supplements. The best supplements are those that are of pharmaceutical grade.

The metabolic path of each ingredient studied at the molecular level. The interaction of the ingredients is examined as well. This ensures the high quality of the supplement and it indicates that what the label says is in it, is actually present. Prescriptive medications are available for both but you should observe any and all precautions, it's important for your health.

Depression no matter the trigger can be treated. There is hope for even the most severe of cases. If side effects concern you, consider natural or herbal treatments. There are also very good counselors who can guide you to recovery or at least help you to learn to cope with the effects of your depression.

We have found a pure natural depression supplement that can also help with anxiety and overall general well being.
