Depression Feedback: Alcohol is a depressant. It deadens the senses, so if you are upset; vola! - you feel better.
If you take an antidepressant, and then alcohol, you feelings will be pulled down, making you depressed, due to the alcohol.
I suffer from mild depression. I LIKE to be happy, not upset. Go with your friends, but drink a soda, instead. Go to be sociable. Not to drink.
Depression Feedback: You’re not supposed to drink really, it hampers the long-term effects. I’ve taken citalopram too.
Depression Feedback: Alcohol and antidepressants are a lethal combo. Alcohol increases the effects of the antidepressant. You could die, slip into a coma, or become seriously impaired for life.
Ask your doctor about the safety of an occasional drink.
